Austrian startup Amabrush promised a dental hygiene revolution with the world’s first 10-second toothbrush. To brush all your teeth at once, you simply stick the toothbrush in your mouth and press a button. Excited consumers happily paid €129, and the company quickly raised over €7 million on crowdfunded preorders.

Shipment of the high-tech toothbrushes was repeatedly delayed and those who received one were unsatisfied. Why? It did not clean teeth regardless of how many seconds or minutes it was kept in the mouth.
